Sackett Street instructors are available to meet in personalized one-on-one sessions to give you the concrete advice you need to polish your writing, whether you have one story you would like feedback on, or if you have a finished draft of a novel and are looking for advice before sending it to an agent or editor.
Individual consultants will read your manuscript, analyze it thoroughly and meet with you to discuss their suggestions and to answer any questions you may have.
Please contact the Director at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment with a consultant and to receive a quote for services.
MFA Application Consultation
Sackett Street instructors have attended some of the top MFA Programs in the country, which makes Sackett Street a great place to find concrete advice on how to get accepted into not only the best MFA programs, but the programs that are best for you.
Meet one-on-one with a Sackett Street instructor to discuss all aspects of the MFA application process.
Instructors can help you decide which of your stories or novel excerpts will make the most impressive sample for your application, and they will assist you in polishing that sample.
We also offer MFA Application Prep Workshops which include in-class discussion, handouts, instructor advice and a thorough critique of students’ application manuscripts.
The course features advice on the personal essay, recommendation letters, choosing work for manuscripts, and discussion of the pros and cons of various programs. The stories/excerpts students intend on including in their applications will be workshopped, and every student will receive feedback from the instructor and the class participants. This course is open to story-writers, novelists and nonfiction writers.
